How much does it cost to ship a kayak or canoe to my home or business?

Kayaks and canoes require special handling and therefore cost a bit more to ship. We strive to minimize this cost as much as possible allowing us to charge you far less than the actual cost of shipping.

Our Residential Delivery and Commercial Business shipping can range between $30 to $200. Shipping cost will also depend on the value of the kayak.  There are no additional fees! While other sites may advertise free shipping on Kayaks, please check their total price and ensure that it is inclusive of all fees such as wrapping fees, handling fees, etc.

Our shipping fees only apply to kayaks and canoes shipped to the 48 contiguous states. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, please contact us, prior to placing a kayak order. Some over sized kayaks may have a higher fee associated with them. In each case, the surcharge will be noted on the product details page.

*Hobie Kayaks and Wilderness Systems kayaks vary in shipping price, please see each specific product for it’s shipping cost.

How do you protect my boat from damage?

We take every precaution to ensure that your boat is not damaged in shipping and work with our shipping providers to ensure they properly handle your boat. One of the key components is the wrapping of the boat to ensure protection from damage.

Who will deliver my order and how long will it take?

Non-kayak, canoe or SUP orders are shipped via FedEx or UPS Ground unless an expedited delivery service is chosen. Typical ground delivery time is 3-4 business days. Our ship notification will include the carrier’s anticipated delivery time.

Kayaks are shipped on a common carrier such as YRC or Estes Express. Residential deliveries will typically be delivered on a box truck with a lift gate. Delivery times can vary and not be guaranteed but the majority of our shipments are delivered within 3 to 15 business days.

What do I need to do when my boat order arrives?

When your boat order arrives at your residence, there are a few steps you should take to ensure that your boat arrived in good condition and that you are satisfied with your order before signing any paperwork. Inspect the boat for any tears, rips, or holes in the packaging. If you see any holes in the packaging be sure to investigate further to make sure the kayak is not damaged. Turn the boat over to inspect the bottom for any damage. If the driver lets you, open up the packaging to further inspect the boat. If the driver does not allow you to open up the packaging that’s okay. Prior to signing the paperwork just write “pending inspection” on the paperwork then sign. If you order accessories with the boat, they will also be packaged inside the boat. Also check in the storage compartments, as we may also use them to ship the additional accessories you purchased.

What if I find the same item priced lower at a competitor?

We strive to maintain competitive prices and will match a competitor’s advertised final price. However, we reserve the right to ensure that the competitor has the product is in-stock as well as to validate the final price including any shipping, tax, handling or other associated fees.

Some items are excluded on coupons, which items are they and why?

Due to our current pricing and manufacturers’ rules, we are sometimes prohibited from discounting a product or offering a further discount. Our coupons will automatically apply to the product that is eligible and each product that is not will say so on the product page as the last bullet point.

All coupons and other offers exclude Hobie kayaks, SUPs and accessories, trailers, electronics, gift certificates, any closeout or specially priced products and prior purchases. As mentioned above, each product excluded will be noted as ineligible in the last bullet point.

How do you handle pricing errors?

There are two main pricing errors and in each instance we reserve the right to cancel the order. The first is an item mis-priced due to system issues and/or human unintentional error. The second is the manipulation of our website in order to checkout at a lower price. In the even it is a human error or system error we contact you to discuss and explain. In the event we have identified tampering with our site we will cancel the order with or without notice as well as take means necessary to circumvent and restrict your usage of our site going further.

Will I be charged Sales Tax?

All orders are shipped to you tax free unless you reside in the state of New York. All residents of the State of New York will be charged State Sales Tax of 8%.

How do I return an item?

We always take care of our customers and will take back any product within 45 days of purchase for any reason. We can’t say that we won’t ask any questions; of course we will be curious as to why you changed your mind, but that’s only because we care and we want to make sure you get the best service possible.

Should you decide to return your product and it is in new condition we will refund you the full purchase price. If we had to ship the product and you are returning it because you changed your mind, well, we can’t refund you the shipping – it is only fair. It is also your responsibility to pay the return shipping fees that might be associated with returning the product. If you are returning a kayak please contact us as there might be re-stocking fees involved depending on the kayak and the condition.

All returns require a Return Authorization. This can be obtained by contacting us by phone or email.
